I'll miss Béla Károlyi most of all.

This is going to sound super lame but I LOVE THE OLYMPICS. Maybe it’s the American in me; that competitive spirit that gets you excited about kicking the asses of smaller, poorer countries in events that they don’t have the funding to properly train for. Ethiopia, we’re coming for you.

I have noticed the Irish don’t exactly get worked up about the games. Our national stations aren’t even showing the opening ceremonies during primetime hours. I have to record it this afternoon and watch it tonight. I think this could have something to do with the extreme elation when they win gold and then the utter disappointment when they find out the horse was on drugs the whole time.

Even though I’m happy here I just can’t bring myself to root for any other team than Team USA. Because 300+ million supporters are just not enough.
