And, one year on.

Weight: 23 pounds
Height: 31 inches
Adjusted age: From birth it's 10.5, and then about another month set back according to the physical therapist, so 9.5 months although I would say 10 months.

I'm not doing an ups and down for this month because I think we all know exactly what went on over the 11th and 12th month and how it has turned out. Our son is healthy and alive. No, he's not really crawling. No, he's not really eating table food or drinking out of a sippy. I suppose on first glance he is a bit behind for a one year old. However, he has come leaps and bounds from where he was when he was born and then where he was a year later.

He barely had lung function when he was born and he barely had lung function when he turned one. A person might think that we failed him in some way; couldn't keep him healthy and take into consideration how he came into the world to make sure to be cautious so he doesn't get there again, but I see him as a child who has overcome the odds twice regardless of how he was brought into the world. He is strong. He is happy and he is here with us keeping up strong and happy every day.

I don't think you can get anymore "up" than that.
